I’m Teresa Farney and I’m so passionate about food I read cookbooks instead of romance novels at night.
Food: It’s my life – I’ll eat almost anything. My whole working career has been about the food. I majored in home economics in college – which I started at Texas Tech but ended up finishing at University of Northern Colorado.
I taught at Air Academy High School until the kids just about made me pull my hair out and I had to escape.
Don’t ask why – I jumped from one measly paying job to the next as a food columnist at the Colorado Springs Sun. Remember it? It was a daily tabloid that competed with the Gazette until they bought the Sun in 1986. That’s when I skedaddled to Washington DC and went to work for turkeys – REALLY! Not just saying. I actually worked 10 years for the National Turkey Federation as a PR flack. It was fun but the mountains were calling and I came back to Colorado Springs where I took the food editor position at the Gazette.
I write the cover stories for the food section; an On Food column about foodie experiences I have stumbled upon and the column the Table Talk Radio Show is based upon. Hope you’ve found the show and like it. Thanks for listening.
Excuse me now – I smelling something good that I think I’ll need to go sample.
