Inmate escapes from Jefferson County Jail

A manhunt continues for an inmate who escaped the Jefferson County Jail Sunday night.

32-year-old Travis Sandlin got out of a maximum security pod in Golden. He reportedly pried away fencing in an outdoor recreation area. 

Sandlin was being held on a number of offenses including theft, burglary, motor vehicle theft, and trespassing. He’s the first person to ever break out of the Jefferson County Jail.

Sandlin is white, 6 feet tall, around 185 pounds.
