DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO – Law enforcement around Colorado are mourning the death of a state trooper.
A female officer was hit by a vehicle while investigating a crash on I-25 near Castle Rock Sunday night. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody.
The name of the trooper is being withheld until next of kin have been notified.
State patrol officers lined up outside patrol offices in Castle Rock and saluted as a coroner’s procession carried the trooper away.
