FORT CARSON, CO – A soldier based out of Fort Carson has died in Afghanistan.
The Department of Defense announced that Staff Sergeant Adam Thomas was killed by an IED on Tuesday.
Thomas was assigned to the 10th Special Forces Group based at Fort Carson.
During his three overseas duties, Thomas earned numerous awards, including a Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Thomas was originally from Tacoma Park, Maryland. He was 31.
