Here we are, already in February, and before you know it we will be talking Conference Championships and March Madness in College Basketball. For Air Force, the clock is ticking as well, for a team that is good enough to beat anybody in the Mountain West, and, as we have seen, good enough to lose to anybody in the Mountain West. The Conference is both down and balanced this year. The regular season title and conference tournament are wide open. The Falcons have had their share of good wins, and also tough losses, most notably to UNLV on the road, and at home against San Jose State. Just about every team has had a 3 or 4 game winning streak in conference, except for Air Force. They are close. They have been competitive. However, anyone with the program will tell you these words ring hollow and grow old, because it’s about winning. It’s an experienced team, but they have still yet to find the magic late in games that will put them over the top. The talent is there. The “Want” is there, but the losses continue. The games are dwindling down to a precious few. There is still time to get on a run, get into the middle of the pack, and be a darkhorse come March in Las Vegas. But Time is running out…
