The El Paso County Fair is set to kick off this weekend.
The eight-day event begins Saturday at the county fairgrounds in Calhan.
Saturday is also military appreciation day, with free admission for all active duty military members, veterans and their families who show proper ID.
Daily events include the elephant extravaganza, the Salida Circus as well as live music and carnival rides.
