A judge in Colorado Springs handed down an 85 year prison sentence to Simon Escamilla, who was found guilty of attempted 1st degree murder. Escamilla shot Janet Kilgore in the face in 2018. Kilgore survived, and was in the courtroom Friday to face Escamilla. She told the criminal she forgave him for his actions.
