Laurel Manor to close its doors in two months

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Volunteers of America Laurel Manor Care Center is closing its doors for good after residents have had nearly 60-cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in March.The care center is working to find new homes for the people who still remain there.

The doors are expected to close on November 1st. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment says 14-people have died at the facility due to COVID-19 and complications related to the virus. The El Paso County Health Department says there are currently 11-residents and five staff members at Laurel Manor that have tested positive for the Coronavirus.

The state is not forcing the center to close and they’re helping to find new homes for the seniors still living there.
