Duplicate ballots sent out in El Paso County

COLORADO SPRINGS – A small number of voters in Colorado Springs were sent two ballots for the upcoming General Municipal Election on April 6th.  Approximately 2500 out of 303,000 of the ballots mailed were duplicated.

City officials say this was caused by a technical glitch in the transmission of data to the vendor that prints the ballots. The City Clerks office knows exactly who was issued the duplicates and has flagged those in the system to ensure that only the first ballot received will be processed for counting if a voter were to return both ballots.
