BOULDER – There is new information on the arrest of the suspect in Monday’s mass shooting. According to the Boulder Police Department, when several officers went to a local hospital to take 21-year-old Ahmad Alissa into custody, they informed him the handcuffs they were using belonged to Officer Eric Talley—one of the 10 people killed during the attack. In a tweet Thursday morning the Boulder Police Department said it was their honor to use Officer Talley’s handcuffs when arresting Alissa and even though it’s a small gesture, they hope it’s the start of the healing process needed at this time.
