Court appearance for Boulder shooting suspect

 

Ahmad Al-Issa, the man accused of killing 10 people Monday at a King Soopers in Boulder made a brief court appearance Thursday. He was formerly charged with 10 counts of first degree murder and 1 count of attempted murder. Prosecutors say they are still processing the crime scene and that more charges are likely. The defense asked for a mental competency exam. Al-Issa’s lawyer is Daniel King, who represented the Aurora Theatre Shooter,  and  Robert Dear,, the man accused in the Planned Parenthood shooting in Colorado Springs. Al-Issa’s next court appearance will be sometime in the next 60 to 90 days for a status update.
