Boulder officials gave an update Friday on the investigation into the King Soopers grocery store shooting. The suspect, 21 year old Ahmad Alissa is facing 10 counts of first degree murder and 1 county of attempted first degree murder. Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty said there will be more charges filed against the suspect. Police moved the suspect out of the Boulder County Jail to a more secure location. Officials said they had heard some talk of possible threats against Alissa which is why he was transferred to another facility. Authorities confirmed the suspect did use a Ruger AR 556 in the shooting. He had a second weapon, a handgun which was not used. Detectives are still going over the crime scene looking for additional evidence including bullets and shell casings. The suspect did pass a background check and was able to legally purchase the AR 556. Investigators still don’t have a motive for the attack.
