COLORADO SPRINGS – Local law enforcement agencies are stepping up their efforts to keep the community safe on the roads. The Colorado State Patrol, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, the Colorado Springs Police, Fountain PD, and others are all working together to address the dangerous driving behaviors on I-25.
While we saw a huge drop in traffic volume during the Covid-19 restrictions last year, we saw an alarming rise in the number of accidents in El Paso County. There were more than 650-accidents across the county last year, 80-of those were fatal. So far this year, 11-people have died on roads in the Pikes Peak region.
