COLORADO SPRINGS – CSPD’s Major Crash Unit continues its investigation after a person on a scooter died Monday afternoon just before 4:00 p.m. According to police, the rider on the scooter was traveling southbound on N. Academy Blvd when they hit an SUV stopped at the red light at Maizeland Rd.
CSPD says it’s unclear if the unidentified rider was speeding when it happened and the driver of the SUV wasn’t believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
