COLORADO SPRINGS — We are learning more about an officer-involved shooting on I-25 Monday. Authorities say the suspect—identified as 38-year-old Robert Garcia—was shot by a Fountain police officer and a Colorado State trooper after a chase that started in Fountain and ended between Woodman Road and North Academy. Investigators say Garcia was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Both the state trooper and the Fountain police officer are on administrative leave per department policy. The Colorado Springs Police Department is conducting the investigation.
