FOUNTAIN – A suspect has life-threatening injuries Tuesday morning after an officer-involved shooting in Fountain Monday night. Police tried to talk to a man about a motor vehicle theft and he was armed and made threatening gestures at officers before he ran off. He swam across Fountain Creek and eventually wound up at Willow Springs Ponds.
Mesa Ridge Parkway was closed between i-25 and Highway 85 for public safety while they searched for the suspect. The Sheriff’s office announced the shooting at about 8:15 Monday night. More details will be released by the Colorado Springs Police Department, which is handling the investigation.
