What you should know about the Air Force Academy graduation

By Nia Bender

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Air Force Thunderbirds arrived in Colorado Springs yesterday morning as they prepare for the Air Force Academy graduation on Wednesday. Tuesday you’ll be able to catch them practicing in their F-16s from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 am. The official flyover is taking place on Wednesday around 1 p.m. and while it might be tempting, officials are reminding everyone that you cannot stop on the sides of I-25 to watch them.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark A. Milley, is this year’s commencement speaker. General Milley has served in his current post since 2019 when he was nominated by President Donald Trump and confirmed by the U.S.Senate. The graduation plans allow for each graduating cadet to have up to eight guests at Falcon Stadium for the ceremony. Guests must sit together in assigned, non-socially distanced seating and no ticket trading is being permitted.
