SAN MIGUEL COUNTY – A 29-year old hiker is dead after he suffered traumatic injuries while hiking alone on the Dallas-Gilpin ridge, which is about 3.5 miles north of Telluride. Patrick Eells was reported missing Sunday night after failing to return.

Eells told his girlfriend that he going to hike from Telluride and run on Sneffels Highline. A search and rescue team headed out on Monday morning and the man’s body was found at about 2:00 p.m.
