Carport plan head to Springs City Council

The latest on the question of Carports in the city of Colorado Springs. The Springs Planning Commission, by a 4-3 vote approved new rules for carports and is recommending city council pass the initiative. The new rules give homeowners more latitude on where they can be placed on their property. Some residents were disappointed in the ruling, claiming with fewer rules to follow the carports could become eyesores. Springs City Council will consider the issue sometime in July.
