Aravada police officer killed in shooting Monday

ARVADA- Three people, including a police officer and a suspect, are dead in Arvada after a shooting on Monday. Everything unfolded at about 1:15 p.m. in Olde Town Square at 57th and Old Wadsworth Avenue.

The Arvada Police Chief, says officer Gordon Beesley was a 19-year veteran who worked primarily as a school resource officer. A good samaritan who has not been identified yet was also killed, along with the suspect. The gunman has not been identified as of yet. A shelter-in-place order for everyone living in the area was lifted at about  8:45 p.m. Monday night.

Investigators are looking into what led up to the shooting.
