New details this morning about a standoff in the Security-Widefield area yesterday. Overnight, we learned that it turned into a deputy-involved shooting. One suspect is in the hospital. No word on their condition. It’s not clear how many shots were fired, or how many law enforcement officers were involved. The gunfire followed an hours-long stand-off near Fontaine and Easy street, close to the Big R on Fontaine. Neighbors had reported shots earlier in the day. The El Paso County Sheriff’s office surrounded the home yesterday. No one else was hurt in the incident. Colorado Springs Police are investigating, which is standard protocol. The suspect’s name has not been released.
