MOBOLADE RECEIVED THE MOST VOTES OF THE 12 CANDIDATES VYING FOR THE JOB IN APRIL. WILLIAMS FINISHED 2ND. NEITHER MAN HAD 50% OF THE VOTE, SO THE RUNOFF ELECTION WAS MANDATED. MOBOLADE DESCRIBES HIMSELF AS AN INDEPENDENT. HE HAS RECEIVED ENDORSEMENTS FROM MAYORAL CANDIDATE SALLIE CLARK AND FORMER EL PASO COUNTY SHERIFF BILL ELDER. WILLIAMS IS A CONSERVATIVE AND HAS HELD SEVERAL OFFICES IN AREA GOVERNMENT. CURRENT MAYOR JOHN SUTHERS SUPPORTS WILLIAMS’ CAMPAIGN. THE MAYORAL QUESTION IS THE ONLY QUESTION ON THE MAY BALLOT.
