Renovations at Colorado Springs Airport

AT THE COLORADO SPRINGS AIPORT A REMODELING PROJECT BEGINS MONDAY DESIGNED FOR MORE EFFICENT TRAFFIC FLOW THROUGH THE TSA AREA. THE PROJECT WILL EXPAND THE CURRENT AREA WHERE PASSENGERS LINE UP TO GO THROUGH SECURITY FROM 17 HUNDRED FEET TO 31 HUNDRED FEET. ALSO, A NEARBY RETAIL STORE WILL BE RENOVATED. THE PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO LAST 4 MONTHS. COLORADO SPRINGS AIRPORT PASSENGER NUMBERS HAVE BEEN STEADILY RISING SINCE THE END OF THE PANDEMIC. AIRPORT OFFICIALS SAY THE COST OF THE PROJECT IS 1. 2 MILLION DOLLARS AND WILL BE PAID FOR BY AIRPORT RESERVES. NO TAXPAYER DOLLARS ARE BEING USED.
