Officials with the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office say a sexually violent predator, who pleaded guilty to killing a Colorado Springs woman, has been sentenced to 48 years in prison. In August of 2022, authorities were called to Squirrel Creek Road in Fountain on reports of an overdose. Deputies determined the death was suspicious. According to the arrest affidavit, the suspect, Dennis Hase, told authorities he punched the victim, Lisa Weidlich, in the face and slapped her at least six times after asking her if she wanted to die. The report also says Hase described putting his hands around her neck, pushing on her, and then pinching her nose. The affidavit states the pair went to sleep; then when Hase woke up at 3 a.m. He noticed Weidlich did not have a pulse. He then called 911. She was pronounced dead when the first responder arrived.
