A WILDFIRE CONTINUES TO BURN ON THE WESTERN SLOPE. THE SPRING CREEK FIRE STARTED SATURDAY SOUTHWEST OF PARACHUTE AND OFFICIALS SAY GREW SIGNIFICANTLY MONDAY. THE FIRE IS NOW ESTIMATED AT 3 THOUSAND ACRES. THE BLAZE EXPLODED MONDAY BECAUSE OF HOT WEATHER, HIGH WINDS AND PLENTY OF FUEL TO BURN. A COMPLEX INCIDENT MANAGEMENT TEAM IS ON THE SCENE. THE WEATHER REMAINS HOT, DRY AND WINDY AND FIRE OFFICIALS FEAR MORE GROWTH OF THE FIRE IN THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.
