New details on a deadly assault in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs Police have released new details on an assault that turned deadly. On May 16th, officers were called to Nevada and Cimarron, where they found 52-year-old Michael Smith suffering from serious injuries. Smith was transferred to a hospital, and 40-year-old James McGinley was arrested on charges of assault in the second degree. Smith died from injuries he suffered in the attack late last month, and McGinley’s charges were then amended to include manslaughter. Details, including the cause of Smith’s death, are not released at this time.
