THE GAZETTE IS REPORTING 1 OF 3 PEOPLE ARRESTED BY POLICE AND FACING CHARGES FOLLOWING THE DEATH OF FOUNTAIN POLICE OFFICER JULIAN BECERRA IS ACCEPTING A PLEA DEAL. 33 YEAR OLD ANTHONY VALLEJOS AGREED TO THE DEAL WITH PROSECUTORS WEDNESDAY. HE AND TWO OTHERS WERE TRYING TO EVADE POLICE IN A STOLEN CAR IN FEBRUARY. BECERRA WAS AMONG NUMEROUS OFFICERS TO RESPOND. HE FELL OFF A BRIDGE TRYING TO CAPTURE THE SUSPECTS AND LATER DIED. VALLEJOS FACES 10 TO 32 YEARS IN PRISON AND WILL PLEAD GUILTY TO ONE COUNT OF AGGRAVATED ROBBERY WITH A DEADLY WEAPON. VALLEJO WAS ON PAROLE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT AND COULD GET A LENGTHY PRISON TERM. A SECOND SUSPECT, DANISHA PACHECO REFUSED A PLEA DEAL AND WILL GO TO TRIAL IN TWO WEEKS. DEVON BOBIAN WAS THE ALLEDGED DRIVER OF THE CAR. NO WORD ON IF HE WAS ALSO OFFERED A PLEA DEAL.
