The Department of Higher Education is informing Coloradans about what they describe as a data incident. Officials with the department said on June 19th, they became aware of the breach and took steps to secure the network, and began working with 3rd-party specialists. Officials say the cyber security ransomware incident happened between June 11th and 19th and that certain data was copied during that time. Some of the information impacted includes names, social security numbers, student identification, and other student records. Among those the breach may have impacted are attendees of a public institution of higher education between 2007 and 2020. You can find a full list of those impacted at cdhe.colorado.gov.
