Monday marked one year since Deputy Andrew Peery died in the line of duty. Peery was killed while responding to a 911 call on August 7th of last year. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office held a wreath-laying ceremony in honor of Peery. Sheriff Joe Royball remembers the deputy as a strong leader with a commanding presence. Peery was a decorated army veteran and a law enforcement officer with numerous awards.
