Joel Hollendorfer, the man convicted of killing 19-year-old Kara Nichols more than a decade ago, was sentenced to 24 years in prison on Thursday. Nichols was first reported missing in October 2012, and her disappearance was a mystery for more than a decade until investigators received a tip from Hollendorfer’s ex-wife. The information led authorities to a property in Black Forest where Hollendorfer had lived with his parents. There they found Nichol’s body.
