STARTING TODAY THE EL PASO COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE WILL BE HELPING THE U.S. FOREST SERVICES WITH CONTROLLED BURNING. THE SHERIFFS OFFICE SAYS THE BURNS WILL TAKE PLACE NEAR RAMPART RANGE ROAD AND FOREST SERVICE ROAD 314. THESE BURNS WILL TAKE OVER NEARLY 400 ACERS, RESIDENTS IN EL PASO, TELLER, PUEBLO, FREMONT, PARK, AND DOUGLAS COUNTIES SHOULD EXPECT TO SEE SMOKE AND SHOULD NOT CALL 911. THE GOAL FOR THESE BURNS IS TO RDUCE FIRE FUEL AROUND RESOVOIR AND WATER STORAGE FACILITIES IN THE AREA.
