An inmate at the U.S. Penitentiary is recovering after they were assaulted late Wednesday morning. Officials say employees were able to quickly gain control of the situation, and at no time was the public in danger. No other injuries were reported. Meanwhile, officials say the prisoner was taken to an outside facility for medical treatment. Details on the severity of their injuries are unknown.
