WORK HAS BEGUN ON REMOVING THE GIANT SMOKESTACKS AT THE MARTIN DRAKE POWER PLANT IN COLORADO SPRINGS. 3 YEARS AGO THE PLANT CONVERTED FROM BURNING COAL TO USING NATURAL GAS. THOSE SMOKESTACKS HAVE BEEN A BIG PART OF THE PLANTS HISTORY, WHICH FIRST OPENED IN 1925. IT WILL TAKE CLOSE TO 2 YEARS FOR THE POWER PLANT TO BE COMPLETELY TORN DOWN.
