EPA Delays Demolition of “Return to Nature” Funeral Home Once Again

ANOTHER DELAY ANNOUNCED BY THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY IN THEIR EFFORTS TO DEMOLISH THE “RETURN TO NATURE” FUNERAL HOME IN PENROSE. THAT’S WHERE MORE THAN 190 IMPROPERLY STORED HUMAN REMAINS WERE FOUND LAST OCTOBER. THE ORIGINAL PLAN HAD DEMOTION BEGINNING IN JANUARY. THAT WAS PUSHED BACK TO THIS WEEK. NOW ANOTHER DELAY AS EPA OFFICIALS SAY THEY ARE WORKING ON FINAL AGREEMENTS WITH A LANDFILL WHERE THE MATERIALS WILL BE TAKEN. OFFICIALS ARE FINALIZING A “CERTIFICATE OF DESIGNATION” BEFORE THE RAZING OF THE BUILDING CAN BEGIN.
