THE COLORADO SPRINGS FIRE DEPARTMENT AND MORE THAN A HALF DOZEN OTHER AGENCIES CONTINUE TO WORK TO CONTAIN A WILDFIRE THAT STARTED SUNDAY AFTERNOON EAST OF THE COLORADO SPRINGS AIRPORT NEAR DRENNAN AND MARKSHEFFEL. CREWS RESPONDED SUNDAY AFTERNOON AROUND 430, AND ENCOUNTERED A QUICK MOVING FIRE SPREAD BY HIGH WINDS. AN ABANDONED WOODEN STRUCTRE WAS DESTROYED BY THE FIRE. FRANCO SAYS THEY HAVE HAD SOME SUCCESS IN KNOCKING IT DOWN. AT LAST CHECK THE FIRE WAS AT 500 ACRES.
