FOR YEARS GENERAL WILLIAM PALMERS STATUE HAS SAT MAJESTICALLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION OF PLATTE AND NEVADA. IT HAS BEEN A TRAFFIC HAZARD. SOME RESIDENTS HAVE STARTED A CAMPAIGN TO ASK THE CITY TO MAKE THAT INTERSECTION A ROUNDABOUT. DRIVERS MUST PASS THE STATUE BEFORE MAKING LEFT TURNS ONTO PLATTE OR NEVADA. THE CITY REPORTEDLY IS EXAMINING THE FEASIBILITY OF A ROUNDABOUT AT THAT INTERSECTION.
