New Security Measures Coning to the Citadel Mall in Colorado Springs

IN THE WAKE OF SEVERAL SHOOTINGS AND ALLEGED GANG ACTIVITY THE OWNERS OF THE CITADEL MALL HAVE ANNOUNCED NEW SECURITY MEASURES. AMONG THE CHANGES, THERE WILL BE AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF HOURS SECURITY GUARDS PATROL THE MALL BY 53 HOURS. THERE WILL ALSO BE ARMED SECURITY GUARDS 7 DAYS A WEEK. THE MALL IS ALSO WORKING TO IMPROVE LIGHTING, REPAIR SOME DOORS AND AN EMERGENCY P.A. SYSTEM, AND TESTING A NEW A-I SURVEILLANCE CAMERA PROGRAM. THIS WILL INCLUDE ADDITIONAL CAMERAS IN THE FOOD COURT AND COVERING MALL ENTRANCES. MALL OWNERS SAY THEY ALSO WANT TO CONTINUE TO WORK WITH THE COMMUNITY AND SPRINGS POLICE ON ADDITIONAL SAFETY PROTOCOLS.
