IT WAS LATE IN THE EVENING ON NOVEMBER 19TH IN 2022 WHEN A GUNMAN BURST INTO THE CLUB Q LOUNGE IN COLORADO SPRINGS AND OPENED FIRE KILLING 5 PEOPLE AND WOUNDING 25. SUNDAY, VICTIMS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS GATHERED TO REMEMBER THE LIVES LOST AND TO LOOK AHEAD. NOW COMES WORD THAT 2 LAWSUITS HAVE BEEN FILED BY A TOTAL OF 12 PEOPLE AGAINST THE EL PASO COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND THE EL PASO COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, ALONG WITH OWNERS OF THE CLUB. THE SUITS ALLEGE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE DID NOT ENFORCE COLORADO’S “RED FLAG” LAW, WHICH WOULD HAVE STOPPED THE SHOOTER FROM OWNING FIREARMS. THE LAWSUITS ALSO CONTEND SECURITY AT CLUB Q THE NIGHT OF THE SHOOTING WAS INADEQUATE. 9 SURVIVORS OF THE SHOOTING AND 3 PEOPLE WHO LOST FAMILY MEMBERS FILED THE SUIT IN U.S DISTRICT COURT.
