COLORADO- Coloradans have decided on two license plates for the Centennial State’s 150th anniversary. Voters were able to choose between 6 designs. Three were entries from the 13-and-younger category, and the other three were from the 13-and-older category. Governor Polis announced the winners on Wednesday. Calista Blachke of Denver won the 13 and under category. She says her design was inspired by Pikes Peak, fortune hunters, the state bird, and the state tree. Evan Griesheimer of Denver won the 13 and up category. He says his design was inspired by the simplicity and color of the state flag, the Rocky Mountains, and mining. Each received a one-thousand-dollar grant and a commemorative license plate.
