Suspected Club Q shooter may take plea deal

THERE ARE REPORTS THE SUSPECT IN THE CLUB Q SHOOTING IN THE SPRINGS MAY TAKE A PLEA DEAL, WHICH WOULD RESULT IN A LIFE SENTENCE. 9 NEWS IN DENVER IS REPORTING ANDERSON LEE ALDRICH, THE SUSPECT, IN A SERIES OF PHONE CALLS WITH THE ASSOCIATED PRESS, HAS EXPRESSED REGRET AND REMORSE FOR THE SHOOTINGS. A-P IS REPORTING PROSECUTORS HAVE CONTACTED SEVERAL FAMILY MEMBERS OF VICTIMS, TELLING THEM ALDRICH MAY ACCEPT A PLEA DEAL. STATE LAW REQUIRES FAMILIES TO BE NOTIFIED IF A PLEA DEAL HAS BEEN AGREED TO. ALDRICH IS EXPECTED TO MAKE A COURT APPEARANCE JUNE 26TH. ALDRICH IS NON-BINARY AND USES PRONOUNS THEY AND THEM. 5 PEOPLE DIED AND 17 PEOPLE WERE WOUNDED IN THE SHOOTING AT CLUB Q LAST NOVEMBER. ALDRICH IS FACING MORE THAN 300 COUNTS OF MURDER AND HATE CRIMES. THERE IS ALSO A CHANCE FEDERAL HATE CRIME CHARGES COULD BE FILED AGAINST THE SUSPECT.
