Aldrich plea deal, Club Q shooter gets life

AS EXPECTED ANDERSON ALDRICH TOOK A PLEA DEAL AND PLED GUILTY MONDAY TO THE CLUB Q SHOOTING IN COLORADO SPRINGS IN NOVEMBER. HE PLED GUILTY TO 5 COUNTS OF FIRST DEGREE MURDER AND 46 COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED FIRST DEGREE MURDER. HE PLED NO CONTEST TO 2 COUNTS OF BIAS MOTIVATED CRIME. ALDRICH WILL SERVE 5 CONSECUTIVE LIFE TERMS WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF PAROLE. HE HAS ALSO BEEN SENTECED TO 2028 YEARS IN PRISON FOR THE 46 ATTEMPTED FIRST DEGREE CHARGES. HE CAN NOT FILE AN APPEAL. THE FBI IS OPENING AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE SHOOTING. SHOULD THEY FILE CHARGES AND ALDRICH FOUND GUILTY OF FIRST DEGREE MURDER HE COULD FACE THE DEATH PENALTY. IN COLORADO THE DEATH PENALTY WAS STRUCK DOWN SEVERAL YEARS AGO, BUT AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL THE DEATH PENALTY REMAINS.
