Space Command stays in Springs

SPACE COMMAND WILL REMAIN IN COLORADO SPRINGS. PRESIDENT BIDEN ANNOUNCED THAT DECISION MONDAY. IN HIS FINAL DAYS IN OFFICE FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP DECIDED TO MOVE THE COMMAND TO HUNTSVILLE ALABAMA. MANY PEOPLE FELT THE MOVE WAS MADE FOR POLITICAL GAINS. COLORADO REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS FOUGHT THE DECISION. IT WAS BELIEVED MR TRUMP GAVE SPACE COMMAND TO HUNSTVILLE ALABAMA BECAUSE 6 LAWMAKERS IN THE STATE WERE SET TO DENY THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL RESULTS. TWO INVESTIGATIONS WERE OPENED INTO THE RELOCATION DECISION. IN THE END MANY MILITARY LEADERS TOLD THE PRESIDENT SPACE COMMAND, IF LEFT IN THE SPRINGS, WILL BE FULLY OPERATIONAL WITHIN WEEKS. IF MOVED TO HUNTSVILLE SPACE COMMAND WOULD NOT REACH FULL OPERATIONAL STATUS FOR SEVERAL YEARS. GIVEN THE GLOBAL TENSION WITH THE WAR IN UKRAINE AND TENSIONS WITH BOTH RUSSIA AND CHINA THE PRESIDENT SAID IT WILL REMAIN IN THE SPRINGS
