The search for an escaped inmate has come to an end. Forty-six-year-old mark fox was found dead inside an unoccupied farmhouse about five miles south of Rocky Ford. According to the U.S. Marshals Office, a previous resident had returned to the house last Saturday to pick up a few things when they discovered the body. Officials say Fox was likely deceased for 2 to 3 weeks, and a forensic specialist was brought in to verify that it was Fox. The EL Paso County Sheriff’s Office performed an autopsy Monday morning. Meanwhile, the cause of death is undetermined pending toxicology results. There are no signs of foul play. Fox escaped in late July with 4 other inmates, two were found, and a 3rd was found dead from a possible drug overdose.
