The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting involving a Colorado Springs Police officer near Fountain and Aeroplaza. Authorities say it all started when the U.S. Marshals Office and the state parole office were looking for a wanted fugitive. Authorities say the suspect is known to be dangerous and violent and is wanted on multiple felony warrants. Officers found the suspect in a vehicle nearby. According to investigators, the suspect tried to drive away in the car. When that attempt failed, he got out of the car and fled on foot. Officers then deployed a K-9, and the suspect pulled out a weapon. At that time, investigators say a CSPD officer fired at least one shot at the suspect hitting him. The suspect was then arrested and taken to the hospital for treatment.
