Two crashes reported near Colorado Springs Schools Tuesday morning

Investigations are underway after two crashes Tuesday morning near local schools. Two cars collided on the north end of the city near Pine Creek High School. According to police, a car was attempting to turn left at Thunder Mountain and Old Ranch Roads when they were struck by an oncoming vehicle. One of the vehicles flipped onto its roof. A driver was cited. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected. Meanwhile, on the southeast side of Colorado Springs, a child was hit by a car near Mitchell High School. Details on the child’s injuries are not available, but officers do not believe they were life-threatening. Details on whether the driver was at fault are unknown.
