SATURDAY (9/16/23) IS A SPECIAL DAY IN COLORADO SPRINGS. ITS IS THE ANNUAL “FALLEN FIRE FIGHTER MEMORIAL.” THE NATIONAL MEMORIAL IS IN MEMORIAL PARK, AND EACH YEAR THOUSANDS OF FIREFIGHTERS AND FAMILIES AROUND THE NATION GATHER IN COLORADO SPRINGS TO REMEMBER FIRST RESPONDERS WHO DIED TRYING TO SAVE LIVES THROUGHUT THE COUNTRY. MORE THAN 500 NAMES WILL BE ADDED THIS YEAR. THERE WILL ALSO BE A PROCESSION OF FIRE TRUCKS IN THE AREA. THE EVENT BEGINS SATURDAY MORNING AT 11. LATER SATURDAY NIGHT TEJON STREET WILL BE CLOSED AS A MASSED PIPES AND DRUMS PARADE HONORS THOSE LIVES LOST.
