Crews Investigate a Barn Fire that Killed One Person and Multiple Horses

AUTHORITIES IN FRANKTOWN ARE INVESTIGATING A BARN FIRE THAT KILLED HORSES AND LEFT ONE PERSON INJURED. FIRE CREWS WERE CALLED AFTER A SMOKE ALARM WENT OFF IN A HORSE BARN NEAR HIGHWAY 83 AND RUSSELLVILLE ROAD AROUND 4 MONDAY MORNING. A CARETAKER AT THE PROPERTY WAS ABLE TO GET 4 HORSES OUT OF THE BARN BEFORE THE SMOKE BECAME TOO HEAVY. THE FRANKTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT SAYS NUMEROUS HORSES DIED IN THE BLAZE. THE CARETAKER WAS TRANSPORTED TO A HOSPITAL FOR SMOKE INHALATION.
