Crews gain quick control of a brush fire on the southeast side of the city

Colorado Springs firefighters were able to quickly knock out a brush fire before it spread to structures. Crews were called to Pikes Peak and Academy on the southeast side of the city around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon on reports of a brush fire. Crews were able to contian the blaze to about half and acre and by 1:30 the fire was out. Officials with CSFD, say this is a good reminder fires can happen any time of the year and to always be prepared.
