Officials with the Colorado Springs Police Department say they recovered thousands of fentanyl pills and other drugs earlier this week. Tuesday night, detectives were surveilling an area known for narcotics on Prairie Road near east Boulder Street. They observed a vehicle leaving the location, and when they attempted a traffic stop, the car fled. They eventually found the crashed vehicle abandoned, and after a brief foot chase, the suspect was taken into custody. Officers confiscated more than 6 thousand fentanyl pills, around 102 grams of heroin, and nearly 50 grams of cocaine. In addition, investigators say they found prescription medications and nearly 2 thousand dollars.
