Suspect accused in the death of a Fountain police officer pleads not guilty

A man facing charges in the death of a Fountain Police Officer will head to trial. Devon Bobian is facing multiple charges, including second-degree murder and vehicular eluding in connection to the death of Officer Julian Becerra. In court Wednesday, he pled not guilty to all charges. In February of last year, Fountain Police responded to reports of a stolen vehicle. According to reports, officers chased Bobian in the stolen car to the bridge at South Academy. It was then they were able to pin the vehicle and Bobian took off on foot. Becerra fell off the bridge while attempting to arrest the suspect. Bobian’s next court appearance is scheduled for March.
